I’m looking out to a foggy night at Skidmore, running on the two hours of sleep that I yanked from my obsessive tweaking of these songs. I’m trying to work out how to tell you that I care about you! You might be sitting alone, reading about this cassette quietly to yourself, and we don’t see each other. But I’m sitting alone, writing this quietly, and looking at foggy Skidmore. So we’re even. Making sober, bold attempts to connect and laugh with people clears the anxious Skidmore mist for me, even when they’re answered with blank stares. Sometimes people just need time to digest.
